Our Philosophy

Attorney Van Sant understands that the practice of law is a service profession and that his law fir exists for the sole purpose of helping clients accomplish their individual goals. David Van Sant believes in set of core values that guides him in his day-to-day activities:

1. The Golden Rule Our most fundamental value is to treat others as we would like to be treated. In all we do, we hold ourselves and our staff to the highest standard: “If we were in our client’s shoes, would we be happy with our performance?” It is upon this core principle that all of our other principles, goals, and values are founded.
2. Communicate with client: We understand that your case is very important to you, and we believe that you deserve to know the current status of your case at all times. Therefore, we copy our clients on every piece of correspondence sent or received on their behalf, and we return every call within twenty four hours.
3. Do not try to be everything to everyone We are not “general practice” attorneys. Each of our attorneys narrowly limits his areas of practice. The law is constantly changing and evolving, and we believe that our clients deserve attorneys who are up-to-date on the constant changes occurring in the areas of law relating to their case. By limiting our practice areas, we are able to remain on the cutting edge of our respective practice areas. If we are presented with an issue that requires knowledge in a specialized area of the law outside of our practice areas, we will associate special counsel to advise us on the issue at no additional cost to the client.
4. Be prepared We believe in aggressively preparing every case for trial. By preparing each case for trial, we put our clients in the best possible position to achieve their ideal result from their case. Litigation is a competitive and adversarial process, and there is no excuse for allowing your competition to be better prepared.
